Last winter, I had the distinct privilege and joy of designing one of my most enchanting wedding dresses for Jo and Dan’s incredible rock and roll wedding, which took place at the stunning Elmore Court. This venue, with its rich history and beautiful architecture, served as the perfect backdrop for a celebration that was nothing short of spectacular. The couple fully embraced the rock and roll theme, which was evident in every detail of the event. With leather jackets adorning the bridal party, bridesmaids sparkling in sequin-clad gowns, and a whimsical Rolling Stones piñata adding a playful touch, the atmosphere was electric, capturing the essence of a true rock and roll celebration.
Held at the stunning Elmore Court in Gloucestershire, the venue provided the perfect backdrop for a bright yet crisp winter morning. Despite the snow, Jo and Dan celebrated their wedding with friends and family in the main hall before moving to the Gillyflower for the evening festivities. Jo wore a breathtaking custom-made pink sequin sparkly mermaid-style gown that hugged her figure beautifully, reflecting her vibrant personality and love for all things glamorous. Given that Jo is a talented florist and the owner of J.S Flower Company, we knew we had to incorporate her passion for florals into the design. The gown was adorned with exquisite floral embroidery, which featured intricate designs that added depth and texture, along with luxurious pearl and crystal beading that caught the light with every movement. This attention to detail not only made the dress unique but also resonated with Jo's artistic flair. In keeping with the non-traditional theme, Jo opted for a striking wedding bouquet that deviated from the classic white flowers typically seen in weddings. Instead, her bouquet was primarily arranged with lush green hues, creating a bold and refreshing contrast against her sparkling gown. This choice not only emphasized her creativity but also aligned perfectly with the overall aesthetic of the wedding, which celebrated individuality and self-expression.
The seven bridesmaids, who each played a vital role in the celebration, dazzled in matching sequin gowns from our favourite designer, Jenny Packham, which added a cohesive yet glamorous look to the bridal party. To complete their ensembles, the bride and bridesmaids sported custom leather jackets, a nod to the rock and roll theme that tied everything together beautifully, making them look effortlessly chic while also comfortable. Each man wore a custom Lego figure as a unique wedding boutonnière - how cool is that?!
